From Faded Pink to Deep Red
Applying Color Theory and Hair Chemistry in a Real Transformation
This blog documents a real hair color transformation focused on correcting faded color and lifting dark regrowth. I refreshed my friend’s hair from a faded pink tone to a deeper red while lightening her roots. This project explores how planning, color theory, and hair chemistry work together to create predictable and professional hair-color results.
Why this project?
This project was created as part of my capstone project to connect hands-on cosmetology skills with scientific understanding and professional practice.
Case Study
Before
The starting point included dark natural regrowth at the roots with faded pink and copper tones through the mid-lengths and ends. The uneven color made correction and careful planning necessary.
After
The final result was a deeper, more vibrant red with a smooth blend from roots to ends. The faded and uneven tones were corrected, and the color looks richer and more put together. Careful lifting helped everything blend better and gave it a cleaner, more intentional look.

Behind the Transformation
This project breaks down the planning and technical decisions behind a real hair color transformation. Instead of focusing only on the final result, it shows how preparation, product choice, and timing affect color outcomes. The goal is to show how professional techniques can be applied in a real learning environment.
